I set up the South West Swing dance information web site in 2003 as a way to keep dancers informed on forthcoming Modern Jive, Swing, Lindy Hop, Rock 'n' Roll, Ballroom, Salsa, Tango, Cajun Zydeco and many other partner dance events, freestyles and workshops run by clubs and independent organisers in the south west region.

This was originally at a time when few clubs and organisers had their own web sites or listed their events anywhere on-line, and I had dificulty finding out where and when suitable dance events were to attend myself - hence South West Swing came into being.

Well times and the Internet have changed dramatically since then. There are many other dance events list web sites available and you will be hard pushed to find a dance event organiser without their own web site, Facebook or other social media presence listing all their contact and event details.

However, my work and general life became so busy that I no longer had time to keep this web site updated. I never charged anyone to publicise their clubs or events on it and I had to maintain it in my spare time, when I had any!

So, thank you everyone for your continued support and patronage of South West Swing. Plus, don't forget that there is also a separate South West Swing Facebook page where dance events can be publicised. I still get out dancing occasionally, so come up and say hello if you see me.
