Come and learn to dance modern jive taught by Phil Payne - a four times national dance champion.

Modern Jive is a male led partnered dance that can be danced to all kinds of music from traditional jive to modern dance music. The emphasis is very much on having fun whilst hopefully learning a great new and easy to learn dance along the way! There is no need to have danced before - complete beginners to seasoned dancer and all ages welcome.

The dance lessons are not run as a course and new beginners are always welcome. Whether you turn up on your own, or as a couple, it doesn't matter as we aim to change partners every few minutes so everyone gets to meet and dance with everyone else. Both the beginners and intermediate lessons are made up of three or four separate modern jive moves which link together to form a short dance routine which can be looped to dance through a complete music track.

Every Tuesday at Moorhayes Community Centre, Lea Road, Tiverton - Venue Map.

Doors open at 7:45pm. Behinner class 8:00pm, intermediate class 9:15pm followed by freestyle dancing until 10:30pm during which a variety of music is played so everyone can practice dancing what they have learnt during the lessons. Cost £5 per night.
